; because Iron Man deserves a standing ovation.
As the Iron Man trilogy comes to an end, I cannot help but feel a whirlpool of emotions swelling within me. There's admiration, contentment, sadness, joy, adrenaline, enlightenment and a tad of wistfulness. Nonetheless, the third movie did a pretty good job in giving everybody, including Tony Stark, a closure.
Admiration, it stems from the fact that Iron Man is so human. He fights, he fears, he loves, he protects, he admits that he has weaknesses. He calls himself
a man in a can; he is but a man but he does what he's got to do - he give it his best and he gives it his all.
So what even if he is a genius? So what even if he
knows he is a genius? He proves to you that he is human, he has got choices to make and he knows that his ingenuity is his burden to bear. So he makes his choices, even though they might be painful.
He suffers from anxiety and shock, because he is human. He is not born a super hero, no one made him that way. That's precisely why his ingenuity is his burden but maturity taught him that his gift comes with responsibility. And the sole reason for his resilience is because he accepts this responsibility. Something that I've been running away and now trying to accept as well, which is why I guess this trilogy struck a chord on my heartstrings.
He loves, and he loves hard. It keeps him motivated and fueled, makes him reconsider his choices and makes him make sacrifices, on his on accord. That, is a mark of honour. He doesn't break bonds to protect, he strengthens them. He knows he is not a martyr, he is human.
He never gives up, never allowed anything to take him down. This strength grew from his honesty, honesty towards his feelings. Like how he was fighting Killian because Killian harms Pepper and not because Killian has some stupid diabolical plan to take over the world or something of that sort. He is not a hero, he is just a man, trying to protect the one person that is his miracle. Love is love; revenge is revenge.
Tony Stark is Iron Man;
Iron Man is a man;
this man is an inspiration.
for all of these, let's give him a standing ovation.
p/s: I'm sorry for any spoilers if any of y'all haven't watched the movie, but who would have read this if you haven't watched the movie? seriously.
